Hello everyone,
As many of you have already noticed, all Guess The Number bot data has been wiped. Server admins with GTN installed have had to redo setup and start from scratch — we're sorry for that inconvenience.
Here's what happened: a critical failure on our previous hosting server caused catastrophic data loss and metadata corruption, taking GTN fully offline for an extended period. We've since migrated to a new hosting provider and gotten the bot back up and running.
The bigger takeaway from this is that we did not have backups in place. We had planned to implement them, but they kept getting deprioritized — and that was a mistake we're owning fully. Starting immediately, all GTN data will be backed up on a regular schedule, so that any future incident can be recovered from quickly with minimal disruption to users.
We're sorry for the lost progress. Your support means a lot, and we're committed to making sure this doesn't happen again.
